Gamete Intrafallopian Transfer (GIFT): Understanding This Fertility Treatment Option

Zygote Intrafallopian Transfer (ZIFT) combines elements of both IVF and GIFT. In this procedure, eggs are fertilised in the laboratory, and the resulting zygote is then transferred to the fallopian tube.

ZIFT allows embryologists to confirm fertilisation before transfer while still enabling the embryo to travel naturally through the fallopian tube to the uterus. This can be beneficial for certain patient profiles.
